Who is Trille Bottom? Why is she running for County Judge Executive?
My parents are William & Gloria Powell and the late Dewey Cummins. I am part of a blended family including brothers Kerry Powell, Chad Powell, Dewey B. Cummins, Tommy Cummins and sister April Cummins Thacker.
I am married to Mark Bottom, son of Melvin and Gladys Bottom. His siblings include brothers Kennie, Pete and Chris and sister Sharon Bottom Caudill.
We have been married for 36 years and have 2 adult sons. Trent who is married to Lindsey Hall and Tatum who is married to Paige Worthington. We have been blessed, so far, with two beautiful grandchildren and 6 grand-dogs!
I graduated from Boyle County High School in 1984 and Kentucky College of Business in 1987. I hold an Associate in Science degree for Higher Accounting and Business Administration. In high school, I was actively involved in 4-H, FFA and Future Homemakers of America, holding club officer positions in the last two. I worked my way through college at Kroger as a frontline grocery bagger and cashier. I also worked at Hub Frankel in the office and was promoted to assistant buyer of women's sportswear in the "Green Room".
After graduating business college, I worked there as the Admissions Representative. From there, I went to work for Tom Hensley and the late Jack Smith at their law office for a short time. In June 1989, I was approached about working in the Sheriff's office. I applied and was hired on June 26, 1989 as a Boyle County government employee.
I worked in the Sheriff's office as a sworn Office Deputy for 19 years. I managed the day to day tasks and functions of the Sheriff's office in addition to bookkeeping, time sheets, paper service and collecting taxes. It was a pleasure serving the great people of this County and seeing them year after year! In late August/early September 2008, I was approached and asked if I would consider putting my name in the "hat" to be the County Clerk as the current one was going to retire. As with any major decision that I'm needing confirmation on, I talked it over with my family and close friends and then prayed about it. I felt like it was something I could do and the more I thought about it, I came to the decision that I wanted to be the County Clerk. So, I applied along with about 25 other applicants. I was interviewed and ultimately offered the position. I was sworn in as the Boyle County Clerk on October 1, 2008.
I have served as the Boyle County Clerk since October 1, 2008. I have run in 3 elections, twice opposed. I have loved my experience serving as the Clerk and have tried to do what was best for the people in all aspects of my job. In 2016, I served as the KY County Clerk's Association President. This was a huge honor for me to represent all 120 Counties. This was the year that the same sex marriage license bill was in the legislature. I made multiple trips to Frankfort with members of my Executive Board to meet with State Representatives and Senators to discuss the marriage license changes. During this time, I made alot of contacts and know what it takes to get things done. It's not just a photo opportunity!
During my tenure in County government, I have stayed active in the community as well. In 2018-2019, I served as the District 17 Lt. Governor for the KY-TN chapter of Kiwanis. Through the contacts I made there, our Club was able to distribute handicap accessible trikes to children in our community!
My heart is in serving the people of this County. I want to see Boyle County prosper and grow as a community of diversity. I want to enhance the services that are needed in this County. I want children to have safe schools in which to play & learn.
I'm not a person that uses big words to try and impress you. But I am a person that is dedicated and will put the needs of this County before any political rhetoric. I will work hard for your needs.
I am the people's candidate!
All my best, Trille #experiencededicationandtrust
