The filing deadline has passed, so now we know all the candidates that affect Boyle County.
US Senate. To replace Rand Paul, four Democrats have filed. Former Representative Charles Booker of Louisville is the front runner. In addition, Joshua Blanton and Ruth Gao, of Louisville, and John Merrill, of McKee, have filed.
US House. As a result of egregious gerrymandering, Boyle has been moved to the First District, centered in far western Kentucky. To replace James Comer, one Democrat, Jimmy Ausbrooks of Franklin, has filed.
KY Senate. The new 12th District is composed of Boyle, Mercer, and Woodford Counties, and the southwest corner of Fayette County. For this open seat, one Democrat, Paula Setser-Kissick, and one Republican, Amanda Bledsoe, are listed by the Secretary of State as filed in this district. However, both filed before the current district maps were adopted. It is unclear if they actually live in the district. More information will be forthcoming.
KY House. The 54th District keeps its old boundaries, consisting of Boyle and Casey Counties. Elaine Wilson-Reddy will be our candidate to remove Daniel Elliott. Both are from Boyle County.
